MWMCA 2006 Christmas Party

Last year I thought that purchasing my Canon Rebel dSLR was a good move. This year I know that purchasing my Nikon D50 dSLR was definitely a good move, if not a great move. Purchasing the Rebel was not a major decision. There was very little thought to it. I wanted to get back into photography with good equipment and I knew that it was time to consider digital. Thanks to Jennie I knew the the Rebel.

But I have always been a Nikon fan and when the D50 came out, I struggled mentally over whether or not I should I did. From the moment that I first seriously started using it, there was no question in my mind that I made the right decision, although I was still a little reluctant at first. At the Russian Festival I took more photographs with the Canon than with the Nikon, I think, but then the Nikon was only days old. At MWMCA's Christmas party I used the Nikon much more, especially since its performance was rock stable and the Canon's was not.

The next day after the party I loaded all the photographs on the computer at work. Pat and I reviewed them together. After seeing all the photographs taken with the Canon and only about five taken with the Nikon, Pat said, "The Nikon is definitely a batter camera!" That did it! In 2007 I hope to purchase the Nikon D80 and phase out the Canon.

The party was a wonderful networking opportunity. But then, most MWMCA functions are. And everybody had a good time. Many of the photographs below were directed by the customer. MWMCA hired me to be their photographer this year.
