Penelope's Baptism
We were scheduled to baptize Penelope Ann on Sunday 17 January 2010, but the baby was in the hospital.
But we had the dinner any way since it was already prepared and people traveled to be here for this event.
At the Liturgy I noticed that there were many new faces and I knew that they were visitors. I could not understand why they were there. Later Fr. John told me about the baptism.
A very pleasant surprise was the children choir directed by our own Vera. They really sounded good. I wish that somebody had recorded them and also taken photographs. I had my cameras only ten feet from them, but we did not know about it in time to get them.
After the Liturgy, we waited a little while and then had the dinner. Penelope's mother Christina and I were good friends. I met her at the Russian Festival here at Holy Trinity centuries ago. I really had a great time with her. We became instant friends.
When I moved over to Holy Trinity, I served on the Altar with her younger brother Chris until he stopped serving. I also became very good friends with her older sister Kelo and her younger sister Liz.
I also got to know her parents and I think that they are both wonderful people. I have always had a good time when I am with anybody in the family.
I had a good conversation with Eva. We sat at the table with Sarah and her parents. Her father Michael is a retired attorney. We did share some lawyer's jokes. He is very good natured about them.
I also met Christina's older brother John and his wife. I told him about my meeting Christina. |
