Baptism - October

We at Holy Trinity were blessed with another baptism in October 2008. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the cute little girl.

After the Liturgy and before the Baptism, I let Natalie use my camera. I generally give her free range and she does a good job. I hope that one day she will be one of our official photographers. I hope that we will have two or three of them.

That is a good shot of Mr. Paul that Natalie took. We all miss his wife Elsie Olga who left us earlier this year to return to her Creator - May her memory be eternal.

Before the baptism, I went into the temple to take photographs, more to get the correct settings for my camera. I no longer have a light meter that works, although I can usually estimate the correct setting. But why should I guess at the last minute when I can take extra shots at no cost to me?

These photographs also serve as parish history records. We know, for example, that both Joseph and Nicholas helped at this baptism because they are in some of the photos.

Why do we baptize babies if the baby can't decide for himself? It is not what we do nor what the baby does, but what God does that counts.
