Archimandrite Daniel at Holy Trinity
One of the joys of being at Holy Trinity is our diversity. On Sunday 28 September we had a really diverse set of major clergy. The main celebrant was Fr. John, Caucasian. The second priest was Fr. Daniel, Asian, and I was the deacon. The last two photos are of the three of us.
Fr. Daniel and Michael (first two photographs) are both converts to Orthodoxy from another religion. Fr. John was raised Orthodox. Deacon Michael is a former Catholic, first Western Rite and then Byzantine-Slavonic Rite. Thus, more diversity: "cradle" Orthodox, convert to Christianity, and convert from another Christian group.
If you come to Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Baltimore, you might be treated to a wonderful collection of diversity. We also have members of our parish who are Korean, Greek, Finish, and most "regular" American ethnic groups. We also have immigrants from several countries of the former Soviet Union. Thus, you might hear conversations in Russian, Georgian, and English and on some occasions you might even hear Greek, German, Spanish, or whatever. |
