New Church School Year
We started a new Church School year at Holy Trinity. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, we had a special blessing for the students and teachers and then we had classes for the students.
After class we had a PTO meeting. One exciting project which I hope that we will do is to take the older children to the Walters Art Museum since it is now free. Another project is to take them to visit other Orthodox churches.
In our country we do not spend enough money and time on education. Often during a service I would pull an altar server aside and explain something to him, just as I have seen bishops do for the whole congregation. When Fr. Duane was ordained a deacon, Metropolitan Theodosius explained the process to the congregation. There are valid reasons why we do many things in the Church. We as members really do need to know and understand these things.
