Bright Monday

A tradition at Holy Trinity is that on Bright Monday after the Divine Liturgy, we have a meal and then we auction off the flowers that decorated the church. This is both a social event and a fund raiser. Those who attend usually have a really good time.

We also take this very seriously. There were some serious bidding on the various flowers. One would think that some celebrity owned them or something. But then we also know that they were in the house of the King of kings so that does make them very, very special.

For security reasons, I have blocked out the faces of our children who participated in the auction. They both had a wonderful time and did a fantastic job. Personally I am extremely proud of both of them. The little baby is a visitor and not a member of the parish. But we all enjoyed her, of course. Children and babies are always welcome in God's house. They are just as important to the community as the adults.
