Christ Is Born! Glorify Him!
Father Gregory has made it clear over and over that he looks forward to serving with me and the feeling is mutual. I always have to photography him serving because he presents such a wonderful image that I just can't describe.
Besides the wonderful priest, I have many friends among the members of the parish. Many of them worshipped with me at St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Baltimore MD and at other parishes.
I came up for both Compline on Sunday evening and Liturgy on Monday morning. After Liturgy on Monday I returned home and later had Christmas dinner with the Disharoon family, as I have been doing for the last ten years or so.
On Sunday evening on the way home I made a few derours to take photographs of houses which had been lit up for Christmas. They are shown on another page. I also took pictures of a beautiful park next door to the site where Four Evangelists meet every Sunday for Liturgy. They meet at John Carroll High School in Bel Air MD. I graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington DC. So coming here does have special significance to me.
By the way, I always listen to WBJC, a classical radio station. The last song on the radio that I heard as I was arriving at the Church was "Heaven and Earth," a song that we sing quite often in the Slavic tradition. Although it is considered a Christmas song in the West, we sing it throughout the year in some of our churches.
On Sunday morning at Holy Trinity I wore the dark red vestments that Maria made for me. As I was putting on the robe, it occurred to me that I received it exactly two years earlier. It arrived on Christmas Eve at my house and I wore it for the Divine Liturgy on Christmas Day right after Fr. Michael Roshak blessed it.
