Microsoft Seminar

On Monday 9 November 2009 I attended a very good seminar by Microsoft. I did not take any photographs of the seminar itself, but I did take photographs of the scenery outside the theatre where the seminar took place. It was in White Marsh in the same theatre where Comcast has or had its quarterly all-employee meetings.

Microsoft did provide snacks. Just before attending the seminary I went next door to the hot dog place and had a wonderful cup of chili. There the prices were realistic. At the theatre a cup of soda was $5 and a small bag of popcorn was also $5. Some of us older people remember when we could go to the movies and have some food for a reasonable price. I thought that the food at the baseball game was high.

Some of the venders at the seminar were extremely helpful. I walked away with a free one-year license of Internet Security 2010 from Kaspersky Lab, hand sanitizier from System Source, and Windows 7.

The following week Microsoft made a follow-up call and the gentleman was very nice. I also had fun telling him how much I enjoy using WordPerfect over Word. He was surprised to hear what I had to say, but he ended up agreeing that I'm going the smart thing. He really could not argue with me because all the things that I routinely do either cannot be done by Word or I would need to purchase additional modules to do them.
